Cancer Fund for Children

Cancer Fund for Children

Cancer Fund for Children understands the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis and its treatment can have on the whole family, and that beyond the essential medical care, there is a family life that needs to be rebuilt.

Cancer Fund for Children’s aim is to empower, connect and strengthen families, so they feel equipped to deal with whatever cancer throws at them. We do this by providing emotional and social support to families impacted by childhood cancer in their homes, communities and at our therapeutic short break centre.

Cancer Fund for Children

Our therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge, in Newcastle Co. Down, offers a haven for families where they can escape from gruelling hospital visits and spend time together. We invite families to step away from the tiresome journey of cancer and renew their inner resources, helping to strengthen their wellbeing and ensure they do not face this journey alone.

The need for another therapeutic short break centre is massive. Currently, we can only provide one in seven families from across the Island of Ireland with a therapeutic short break. At any one time there is a waiting list of over 137 families waiting to come to Daisy Lodge.

Cancer Fund for Children

It is our aim to build and open a second therapeutic short break centre for children with cancer and their families from across the island in Co. Mayo. We are pleased to have secured a site on the beautiful shores of Lough Corrib near Cong which will offer more families the opportunity to spend quality time together in a safe and supportive environment.

Construction on our second Daisy Lodge is due to commence in 2024 and will allow us to increase the number of children and parents in Ireland we support each year from 1,800 to 4,000. Find out more about how we support children across the island of Ireland here

Oscar's Kids

Oscar's Kids

Oscar’s Kids was created in honour of Oscar Keogh who faced cancer at just 3 years old. Oscar’s Kid’s mission as a charity is guided by the immense joy with which he lived life, his endless bravery and the magic he injected into every day, even the hardest ones.

Oscar's Kids

Oscar’s Kids mission is to fund cutting edge global research into pediatric cancers as well as offering support to families and a sprinkling of magic and joy for the amazing kids who undertake this journey.

No life should be defined by cancer, especially a child’s. Through Oscar’s Kids, we hope to help families live brightly, even on the darkest days. Just as Oscar did.
