How long does it take for an order to be delivered?
Great Britain Orders
For Great Britain customers, all orders placed before 5pm qualify for next working day delivery. Please note this excludes orders with large bulky items and weekend delivery. Large bulky items are typically products that weight over 45kg. Orders with large bulky items are delivered within 1 – 3 working days.
Please see below delivery times for standard parcels (under 45kg) which are sent via DPD:
Order Placed Order Delivered
Monday – Friday Before 4pm Next Working Day
Monday – Friday After 4pm Two Working Days
Saturday and Sunday Tuesday
Public Holiday Mondays Wednesday
Large bulky items (greater than 45kg) take between 1 and 3 working days and are sent via the NightFreight.
Northern Ireland Orders
For Northern Ireland customers, all orders are delivered within 2 – 6 working days.
Working days are Monday to Friday and exclude weekends and public holidays. If you want to check the status of your order please view Your Most Recent Orders in the My Account area of our website.
Please note that these delivery times are only guidelines and are not 100% guaranteed due to certain factors which are outside of our control.

How much will my shipping costs be?
Free Shipping applies to all orders over £40 excluding orders with large bulky items. Large bulky items are typically products that weight over 30kg. Should free shipping not apply to your order you will see the shipping cost displayed when you click ‘Add to Basket’
Standard Shipping Charges if order is under £40:
Great Britain shipping charge: £4.99
Northern Ireland shipping charge: £5.99
Shipping Charges for Large Bulky Items:
Depending on the size and weight of these items, shipping charges vary from £4.99 to £49.99. This applies to Mainland UK and Northern Ireland.

My Order is over £40, why I am still being charged shipping?
Free Shipping applies to all orders over £40 excluding orders with large bulky items. Large bulky items are typically products that weigh over 30kg. However some items may be classed as large or bulky items even if they weigh less than 30kg due to the products dimensions. Should free shipping not apply to your order you will see the shipping cost displayed when you click ‘Add to Basket’

Depending on the size and weight of these items, shipping charges vary from £4.99 to £49.99.

What happens when I am not at home when my delivery arrives?
Our delivery carriers will leave a calling card advising that they tried to deliver the order and they will also send an email and SMS notification to advise you of the attempted delivery and allow you to rearrange an alternative date.
In some cases, your order may be left with your neighbour if there is no one to sign for the parcel. Our delivery carriers may attempt to deliver at a neighbour either side of the delivery address or directly opposite at which point a signature and address is recorded. You will also receive a card to advise your parcel has been left with a neighbour and can view the details when you track this order.
Our delivery carriers will automatically attempt delivery on two consecutive days. If unable to deliver they will hold the parcel in the local depot for a further 2 days, awaiting a response from the receiver. If at this stage, no further delivery instructions are received, the parcel will be returned to our warehouse.

What is On Shelf Promise?
Never have a wasted journey with our On Shelf Promise - your promise that the product will be available on the shelf!
Select 'Click Now to Receive your On Shelf Promise' and enter your email address. A copy will be sent to your email immediately. Bring your print out to your local store and your product will be available on the shelf when you visit until the end of the next working day.
Please note On Shelf Promise is not available for all items. Certain products are available in assorted colours or characters. We cannot guarantee that your preferred colour or character within such assorted products will be available. In such instances our On Shelf Promise does not apply.
Receive a £7 Gift Voucher if the item is not available to purchase. To redeem your voucher, you must present your printed ‘On Shelf Promise’ Guarantee at your chosen Smyths store.
