WWE2K17 – Welcome To Suplex City

The WWE franchise is a huge power in sports entertainment and has been a global brand for many years. They have two popular TV shows that are enjoyed worldwide, consistently have sold out arenas and also sell millions of action figures and other merchandise on a daily basis. When it comes to the video game it’s no exception.

From Wrestlemania 2000 on the N64, attitude era games, smackdown games and the more recent 2K games, they have sold millions and always captured what it feels like to be a WWE superstar.

They have always granted great customisation on Create-a-Wrestler plus all the favourite modes to play like Royal Rumble, Hell in a Cell, Ladder Matches, Money in the Bank, great career modes and an amazing roster of superstars to choose from.

2K is the development team behind the new addition to the series of WWE games WWE2K17 and it looks just as good if not better than its predecessor. See below a trailer for WWE2K17

WWE2K17 has improved on what was an excellent game last year. They have brought back the ability to wrestle in the crowds again which was last done in Raw vs Smackdown 2008 and you can also brawl backstage!

They have brought in a new taunt mode were you can either taunt the crowd or your opponent, doing this will either give your wrestler a temporary boost or hinder your opponent for a short time.

One decision they made is to take out the showcase mode but in doing so they can concentrate more on making the game look as good as it does and make the gameplay mechanics feel like your wrestling as a superstar, they can also make the entrances, lighting, pyros and music look as real and detailed as they can to make it as close as possible to the real thing.

The superstars move and feel unique; you can definitely tell the difference between them, like when you play as Finn Balor it feels completely different to Kevin Owens.

With using full body scanning it allows the wrestlers to look and feel just like they do in the real ring as they all walk and move in their own unique way.

In the Career mode you can now cut promos in and out of the ring and it works very well, when you’re interviewed or are cutting a promo you get a choice of what you want to say, this then has an effect on what the crowd feels about you and whether you become a heel or a face.

You can get attacked backstage or attack someone backstage as well.  When you’re on the way to the ring, you can run straight down and start fighting or even attack someone mid-entrance.

Throughout the career mode, you will bump into Paul Heyman and have choices to make–will you become the next Paul Heyman guy or become an enemy of the Beast Brock Lesnar.

The Create-a-Wrestler has been updated with lots of new features. Create-a-Wrestler has always been one of the main features of the WWE games and lets the fans create themselves or let their imagination run wild.

They have added even more layers to the detail you can create on your wrestler–even down the body hair–you can create arenas, entrances, belts and shows as well.

The roster on the WWE games have always brought you the most recent superstars as well as the legends of WWE, and WWE2K17 is no exception, It will bring you a roster of 150 superstars to choose from with the likes of Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and many more plus legends like Bret the Hitman Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels.

Also if you pre order you will get two versions of Goldberg and two classic WCW arena.

I have had a love for games since my first console which was the Nintendo NES with Super Mario brothers and Duck hunt and I have never looked back. I play games on any format but I have always been a big PlayStation fan, from PlayStation 1 which was my first console I brought myself through to the recent PS4. I currently work at the Wolverhampton Smyths store and I am Software Expert. I love the Uncharted series, Resident Evil 1, 2 and, Final fantasy series and anything Dragonball Z. I’m looking forward to Dishonored 2, Horizon Zero Dawn and eventually the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
